5/15/2012
Jason
Dwyer, President
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jason Dwyer has spent the
last 6 years living in the Lake Tahoe area. While seeking employment with his
local PUD, he discovered Northwest Lineman College. He decided to take a tour
of the campus and see what NLC had to offer him. He found the staff to be very
professional and the facilities to be top-notch. He believes that everything in
this world has room for improvement and looks forward to making his
contribution to NLC as a student body representative. He looks forward to
finding a good job as a lineman and, through hard work and diligence, work his
way up the ranks.
Joshua
Polk, Vice President
Josh Polk was born in Visalia, California, and
decided that after leaving the military it was time for him to find a career
with similar core elements: Brotherhood, Excitement, Sacrifice, and a Sense of Purpose.
He found that parallel in the lineman profession. After researching his schooling
options, he found that NLC was his best educational choice. He was impressed
with the cleanliness and order of the facilities as well as the instructors’
willingness to go the extra mile for students at all times. Joshua likes the challenge
that a leadership role provides as well as the good feeling he gets from
serving others. He hopes to continue learning as much as he can throughout his
career. And he plans to start that learning process by landing an employment
opportunity that offers a great apprenticeship program under the supervision of
seasoned linemen who enjoy teaching the next generation.
