Flexible

The Lineworker Certification Program is portable. Regardless of the work location of your employees, the program will function as long as the trainees and test facilitators have access to a fax machine. Here’s how the program works:

Upon enrollment of the company and trainee, Northwest Lineman College sends the trainee a Lineworker Certification Program module.  A designated company employee will be sent a test bank and will assume the role and responsibilities of a test facilitator.

The trainee studies the training manual and completes the "Applying Your Knowledge" section in preparation for the exam.

The trainee can contact Northwest Lineman College at any time during regular business hours for prompt technical assistance regarding any of the subject materials.

The test facilitator arranges a time to proctor the closed-book examination for the trainee. It is recommended that the examinations be proctored on regular intervals, such as monthly.

When completed, the exam is returned to the test bank, which is always kept in a secure location to maintain program integrity and validity.

Each exam consists of 25 multiple choice questions and the answers are recorded on a standardized bubble sheet. The test facilitator then faxes the bubble sheet to Northwest Lineman College for grading.

It is recommended that the test facilitator place the bubble sheet in the trainee’s personnel folder for safe keeping.

The examination is graded and recorded in Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program database. The results are then faxed back to the test facilitator within 24 hours.

Northwest Lineman College then maintains a complete record of each trainee enrolled in the Lineworker Certification Program.

"The Power Delivery Program [Lineworker Certification Program] works well for our employees, as it is flexible to utilize while our employees travel between work locations."
